Day 6

We ate oatmeal and cleaned the dew and rain of our stuff and got in the car by 9:30 this morning.

We have a very long way to go to get to Yellowstone but at least we got some great stuff to look at on the way.

Very eventful stop at the Montana border. As soon as we pulled up the tone was very different from crossing into Canada.  They had us pulled over, asked us some questions and made us fill out a customs paper. The officer then said "I'm gonna need your keys" and we gave them over. Apparently that's all he needed to completely search my car and take everything out of it. No notification they were gonna search it or probable cause given or anything.  Guess the good ol protections of the American legal systems don't apply at the border.  This is us mid search.

The officer took a very long time and wouldn't let me poop even though I had to go really bad. Eventually he came back with  David's vitamins and nutrients bc he didn't know what kratom was but was obviously very frustrated he didn't find any illegal substances. We made it.

 We continued through into Montana.

At night it was a rainy drive but not very arduous.

Stopped in Bozeman which is artsy and bougee but the coop we shopped at was good.

Stopped at a bar in gardindale and everyone was wearing cowboy hats and I guess a rodeo was in town. Very unique vibe and cool to check out.

We were in bed around 1:30am at our campsite in canyon village.  Excited to check out Yellowstone and are very tired so will sleep in tomorrow.
